The inspector I found through a recommendation on a local owners group was super thorough like he spent nearly three hours underneath it and plugged in a laptop that pulled fault codes the seller's basic OBD scanner completely missed turned out there were several shadow codes for the transfer case module and the front lower control arm bushings were absolutely shot which explained the vague steering feel I thought was just normal Range Rover floatiness. Long story short the seller got defensive when confronted with the printout and I walked, so now I'm back to scrolling through listings but honestly I'm just relieved I didn't wake up this morning with a five year loan on a ticking time bomb wearing a posh British suit.
